Play Therapy
Play therapy at TurtleCare supports children who may find it difficult to express emotions, cope with changes, build social connections, or navigate everyday challenges. Since play is a child's natural way of communicating and making sense of the world, therapy uses play-based experiences to help children process feelings, develop coping skills, and build confidence in a safe and supportive space.
Emotional Expression Difficulties
Supporting children who may struggle to express feelings such as sadness, anger, fear, or frustration in clear and healthy ways.
Behavioural Challenges
Helping children whose behaviours may reflect underlying emotional, social, or developmental needs.
Anxiety and Adjustment Concerns
Supporting children who may feel anxious or unsettled during changes, transitions, new environments, or stressful experiences.
Social and Interaction Difficulties
Helping children build connection, cooperation, sharing, turn-taking, and confidence in social situations.
Confidence and Self-Esteem
Supporting children in developing a stronger sense of self, emotional security, and confidence in their abilities.
Play and Engagement Difficulties
Helping children who may find it difficult to engage in age-appropriate play, imaginative interaction, or shared activities.
Coping and Regulation Skills
Supporting children in building healthier ways to manage emotions, responses, and everyday challenges.
Relationship and Attachment Concerns
Creating space for children to feel secure, understood, and supported in their emotional world and relationships.
Parent Guidance and Support
Working with families to better understand the child's needs and to build supportive responses beyond the therapy setting.
Our goal is to help children feel safer in expressing themselves, more confident in navigating their world, and better supported in their emotional and social development. By using play in a purposeful and therapeutic way, we aim to create progress that feels natural, meaningful, and lasting.
