Speech & Language Therapy
Speech therapy at TurtleCare supports children in developing the communication and feeding skills they need for everyday life. This may include help with understanding language, expressing themselves, speaking more clearly, interacting with others, and managing feeding or oral-motor challenges. Our approach is warm, child-centred, and tailored to each child's strengths, needs, and pace of development.
Speech and Language Delays
Supporting children who may be delayed in developing age-appropriate speech, understanding, or expressive language skills.
Articulation and Pronunciation Difficulties
Helping children improve clarity of speech and produce sounds more accurately and confidently.
Expressive Language Challenges
Supporting children who may find it difficult to use words, sentences, or gestures to express wants, needs, and ideas.
Receptive Language Difficulties
Helping children better understand words, instructions, questions, and everyday communication.
Social Communication Challenges
Supporting children in developing interaction skills such as turn-taking, eye contact, joint attention, and meaningful communication.
Autism-Related Communication Needs
Providing support that is sensitive, individualised, and focused on helping each child communicate in ways that work for them.
Fluency Difficulties
Helping children who may experience interruptions in the flow of speech, such as stammering or stuttering.
Feeding Difficulties
Helping children who may struggle with eating, chewing, swallowing, or managing different food textures.
Oral-Motor Challenges
Supporting the strength, coordination, and control needed for speech and feeding-related movements.
Play-Based Communication Development
Using play as a natural and engaging way to support communication, connection, and language growth.
Functional Communication Skills
Helping children communicate more effectively in daily routines, at home, in school, and in social settings.
Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)
Facilitate functional communication using AAC to support expression of needs, wants, and ideas.
Our goal is to help each child communicate with greater ease, confidence, and comfort in everyday life. By working closely with families, we aim to build communication skills that feel meaningful, functional, and supportive of each child's growth and participation.
